Ammo Boxes

Need something in which to transport your PET dispensing pig? We recommend our USDOT 7A Type A-approved ammo boxes. These ammo boxes come with custom-fitted foam and a handle for easy and convenient carrying.

Collimators

Collimators come in many shapes and sizes. We accept any challenge to manufacture even the most difficult design.

Tungsten Parts

We can supply any size and design of a wide variety of solid tungsten alloy parts. We can fully machine these per your specs or supply them as blanks. We tailor the alloy to your needs such as magnetic, non-magnetic, medium or high density, etc. We can also roll plates and supply them in tubular shapes. Our prices are competitive and our lead times are shorter than those typically accepted in the industry.

       

Lead-Free Bricks

Lead bricks are used as a popular shielding material due to their low cost, although it is well known that these are toxic. Thus, several preventive measures are usually taken, such as taping the bricks and using gloves. Although these measures help somewhat, they fall far short of offering a safe working environment. Indeed, we believe that many organizations will ban the use of such bricks in the near future. Tungsten bricks have never been considered due to the high cost involved. We are proud to introduce the following lead-free bricks as a safer — and more environmentally friendly — replacement.

We offer four types of lead-free bricks:

• Solid Tungsten Alloy Bricks
• Solid Tungsten Alloy Bricks supported by Poly Frame
• Technon^® Poly Bricks
• Economical, Lower-Density Bricks

Our Apollo Flexi-Blankets are specially designed for your unique application. We offer many options and features that we can vary, including thickness, color, texture, density and many others.

Mechanical Properties: Min. 7 g/cc density, temp to 250° C, tenth value thickness 2 inches (50.8mm)

Radiation Shielding Specifications: Form 1 mm thick, 50 keV, less than 1 count per 100,000, gamma tenth value is 2 inches (50.8mm).

These Apollo Flexi-Blankets are already FDA approved for skin and open cavities.

Recently Completed Projects

1. Tungsten Heavy Powder, Inc. is proud to have been involved with IEEE members from the University of Arizona and to have collaborated with them on a study that led to the publication of a white paper entitled, "Novel Applications of Rapid Prototyping in Gamma-ray and X-ray Imaging" (6MB PDF).
